Fat City

After living in Kuwait for 3 months, it's easy to say that Kuwait is the land of convenience.  This country is incredibly rich--one of the richest in the world--due to its vast oil reserves.  And, as a result, it's a place where you can get anything you want at any time and that is especially true for food.  One of our favorite websites since we moved here is 6alabat.com.  On this website, you can order food and have it delivered to you at any time of the day or night.  Normal delivery options are represented--pizza, sandwiches, etc.--but you can also get a steak, ice cream (yes, ice cream!), coffee, a burger--almost anything you can dream up can be made up and brought to your door in under an hour.  You can imagine the effect this has on one's waistline.  It should come as no surprise, then, that Kuwait it quickly becoming one of the world's fattest countries.  Here is a great video about the reasons behind this growing (pun intended!) problem:

I also like this video because the promenade where the two gentlemen are running and working out is one of my favorite places in Kuwait.  It's the boardwalk outside of the Marina Mall and it's a lovely place!
